When one thinks of the Rolls-Royce Dawn, one does not think of unsolved mysteries, but that's just what we have on our hands today. The guys over at Daily Driven Exotics (DDE) just released a video about a special Rolls-Royce Dawn called the Kryptos. The Kryptos is one of 50 cars made that hide an intense mystery that Rolls-Royce says, once it's solved will reveal some sort of enlightenment. Where is the puzzle? Everywhere! In the bulb of the Spirit of Ecstacy, hidden in the veneer, the seats and the illustrious starlight roof. Each buyer is given an application for their smart phone that helps in deciphering the cryptic message, but if one were to do a search it would reveal no one has actually attempted to unlock the text, save a lone Reddit user. So it appears that Rolls-Royce decided to spurn the quest on by providing a clue via the Spirit of Ecstasy and the crew of DDE took grabbed it hook, line and sinker. I must add, it's not shocking. Imagine you have the funds to pay for a $400,000 vehicle. We highly doubt you have the time required to go digging through your vehicle for some hidden text that may award you some special trip to the factory. With far less money than you paid for your vehicle you could probably reserve a private jet and visit at your leisure on your time. It's something we run into all the time running events. Uber and exotic owners simply can't be bothered by trophies. They drive hundreds of miles for a charity, but barely get out of bed for any accolades, preferring to pass them along to someone else. This is where DDE comes in. Damon Fryer, the face of DDE, even calls on the help of Chris Ramsay, a world renowned YouTube puzzle solver, to take a swing at it. We're sure this will be an ongoing slueth that you can view here: click here to watch their video. What I find amazing about this story is that it seems tailor made for social media. An unsolved mystery with a hidden treasure locked away in a safe that only the CEO of Rolls-Royce himself can release. What wouldn't entice the most callous of casual viewer? Unfortunately what's sad is that even if Damon and his cohorts do actually solve the mystery it can only be awarded to the owner of the Dawn Kryptos and even then we don't know what prize resides behind the hieroglyphs. Could it be a special upgrade for the vehicle, a simple trip to the factory or something even more enticing. I guess we'll have to watch to find out.
