Top Secret Skunk Works Teaming Up with McLaren!

What's better than an SR-71 Blackbird, the most exclusive jet in the sky?  How about a McLaren built the same way?  Excited?  You should be!

McLaren Automotive and Lockheed Martin Skunk Works announce a technical collaboration to explore futuristic design methods.  Lockheed is well known for their futuristic and high speed aircraft.  From the SR-71 Blackbird to the new Darkstar featured in the movie Maverick.  McLaren is also no stranger to speed and revolutionary design either, having held the top speed production car record for 24 years!  So the mating of these two seems like a match made in heaven. 

McLaren made it clear in their statement that their respective teams will work with the Skunk Works teams to explore and test cutting-edge technology that could be employed commercially.  How we read that statement is simple.  How do we get your speed into our car. 

This isn't a one trick pony either.  Darren Goddard, Chief Technical Officer of McLaren Automotive stated, "We hope this is the start of a longer and deeper collaboration that will benefit our customers in the long-term."  What could this mean for the automotive world that loves high speed and unique design?  One could only ponder, but the imagination could run wild and I doubt it would be far-fetched.  Could we be looking at another McLaren F1 moment?  We'll just have to wait and see!
